ICH MART 2022

The Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Mart 2022, a highlight of the Hong Kong Culture Festival, was held from October 14 to 16, 2022, at Tai Kwun and Central Market. This 3-day event showcased a wide range of time-honored customs and traditional craftsmanship, aiming to offer an exciting weekend for the public and revitalize valuable local cultural legacies. The ICH Mart 2022 provided a unique opportunity for the public to explore Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage.

The carnival-style market featured a variety of game booths, workshops, exhibitions, and demonstrations of traditional dances, including dragon dance, lion dance, and Hakka unicorn dance. It also included captivating performances such as puppetry, Hakka kung fu, and Lingnan martial arts.

Workshops such as Flower Board Crafting, Mahjong Tile Crafting, Shadow Puppetry Making, Hakka Unicorn Making, Dit Da Jow Making, and Chinese Knot Button Making were met with an overwhelming response and were fully booked shortly after opening for public enrollment.
