INHERITANCE – THE INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF JAPAN

Concept originated from Hong Kong Culture Festival, this exhibition will introduce the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in Japan through about 100 stunning exhibits, including ceramics, metalwork, lacquer work, woodcarvings and textiles on loan from Japanese ICH practitioners. With the support from local craftspeople, the exhibition will also feature a selection of about 15 exhibits relating to painted porcelain, paper crafting and wood sculpture of Hong Kong, with a view to showcasing the craftsmanship of Hong Kong ICH masters.

To enable visitors to appreciate the artworks in the exhibition, a series of weekend programmes comprising live demonstrations, talks and workshops will be held during the exhibition period.
